Land Trusts

Chippewa County works with State agencies and local land trust organizations to offer opportunities for long-term and permanent resource protection.

This service is beneficial to:

*Landowners who would like to enter voluntary conservation easements to prohibit nonfarm development on all or part of the farm.

*Farm families, doing estate planning, who would like to control development and preserve the farm for future generations.

*Landowners who would like to reduce property taxes by entering State programs which encourage resource conservation for a designated contract period (WI Management Forest Crop Program, WI Farmland Preservation Program).

To learn more about these services, contact us via e-mail at lcd@co.chippewa.wi.us or phone at #715-726-7920.  We work closely with all Federal and State agencies, local land trusts, and local non-profit conservation organizations.  If we can’t provide the service, we will refer you to someone who will.
